Our History

David Mosner Inc. has been a family-owned and operated business since its founding as a sole proprietorship in 1957. David began his career as a jobber, purchasing meat from wholesalers and delivering it to butcher shops. In order to support his growing family, David decided to embark on his own business endeavor. With his business acumen, integrity and work ethic, David quickly became a success and his business grew. Building and maintaining a loyal clientele, he was eventually able to open his own cooler located at 631 Brook Ave, Bronx, New York.

In 1973, the Hunts Point Market opened and David became a mainstay at Building E. During the 1980's David's sons Michael, Daniel and Philip joined the company and expansion ensued. Lamb was added to the product line and the company became a leader in the industry with its introduction of humanely raised veal.

The business expanded again in 2001 when Benjamin joined the company as the third generation. Benjamin developed the imported lamb, beef and venison programs. Family ties to the business grew even stronger with the addition of Jessica in 2009. Her expertise in marketing will ensure our continued growth for years to come.
